Woodall Rogers Extension
Project Cost: $47.5 million
Designed to meet the projected population growth in Dallas along with the greatly increased transportation demand, Austin-based J.D. Abrams is constructing an extension over the Trinity River, which will create six lanes and ramps to Industrial Boulevard. Additionally, the project calls for a direct connection to and from Interstate 35.
The $47.5-million Woodall Rogers Extension/Spur 366 project extends the Spur 366 (Woodall Rodgers) freeway westward from its current terminus at IH 35E, across the Trinity River, and ending at the Beckley Avenue / Singleton Boulevard Intersection.
The extension of Spur 366 includes improvements along Industrial Boulevard and Beckley Avenue in Dallas. Spur 366 forms the northern boundary of the city of Dallas central business district. (The CBD extends from U.S. 75 on the east to Industrial Boulevard on the west. Direct connections exist at these same terminals, allowing access to and from U.S. 75 and IH 35E).
The proposed action extends Spur 366 with improvements along Industrial Boulevard and Beckley Avenue in Dallas County. The project ends at IH 35E to the Beckley Avenue / Singleton Blvd. intersection, a distance of approximately 1.03 mi. A major portion of the Spur 366 extension crosses the Trinity River floodplain.
