A SIGHT FOR SORE EYES — and stalled motorists. There are some Bayshore area residents who will consider this to be one of the prettiest photos we’ve ever run. One lane of the eastbound Fairmont parkway overpass at the railroad tracks between Bay Area Boulevard and 16th Street opened Monday morning, and one lane opened westbound on Tuesday. Both lanes in both directions are expected to open soon. The project was scheduled for a late-2007 conclusion, but the overpasses went up quicker than expected. There will still be plenty of construction going on in the area in the immediate future, but at least motorists will no longer have to consider the trains.
J.D. Abrams L.P. would like to congratulate Chuy and the gang on a job well done and finishing long before the deadline!
